What's New?

So much has been going on with me this past few days. I never expected my July to be very exciting (except P's birthday), since at work these are what we call our "lean months". I've always wanted to do other things apart from what I do at my day job, so as to divert my artistic energies and continously venture into other things that I am passionate about. Im so thrilled to be part of this program for this promising menswear brand. Tasks assigned to me are really very exciting, and I get to be surrounded with my first love which is fashion. I am still "on trial" so there are still alot of things to do before I can really say I'm part of the team. Hopefully they'll like me and my work =). I'm doing this all for the love of fashion and my eagerness to learn and just live life and maximize my potential. I know it's going to be tough, but sure as hell this is one exciting and fun ride for me.

The Swacket

This is really one piece of clothing I wish I own. I am huge fan of multi-functional pieces, not only for economical reasons, but because of the endless possibilites I can come up with my humble wardrobe. These are just 4 looks you can do with the Swacket (my favorites) and wow, I think I can come up with a number with this!

8th Mega YDC Winner

I remember back when I was in fashion school, I have this classmate who has the cutest and gorgeous illustrations (think flapper-esque girls in feminine and elegant frocks) in her portfolio. She sure inspired me in many ways and it was such a breather to meet someone as sweet and nice as her. She was very generous, always willing to lend a hand and so patient in teaching.

8th Mega YDC winner: Vanessa Ang

Her work are as pretty as always.

Congratulations Van! You deserve it.

Geeks Galore

I've been obsessing about these nerdy 50's or 60's eyewear lately. In fact during our little trip in Bangkok, it was one of those items that was on my shopping list.

Inspired by these fashionable ladies and gents ....

I know, i know, haha...at least I can make a fool of myself.

Solange Azagury Partridge

Over the years I've managed to accumulate rings, handed down from my grandma's and mom's vintage collection, cracker jacks sourced from Ebay and Russ Berrie plastic rings. Rings have always been my choice of jewelry, adding spunk to the whole outfit without looking "too made up".

Solange Azagury Partridge creates magical and to die for pieces which she sells in her London & recently New York shops. Made from precious, semi-precious stones, metals, enamel etc. her work has been spotted on rockstars and celebs alike.

One thing i love about her work is that her pieces are not initmidating. Her jewelry looks luxurious but doesn't look too "matronly" thinking these pieces are huge and chunky.

Her themed pieces are a statement to her creativity, and her wild imagination.

Designs that can both be appreciated by the younger and older generations...

Fun and quirky yet timeless and classy.

Hay, and the list goes on and on...

Pinoy Pride

I regularly visit Sea of Shoes for my regular dose of envy with these mother-daughter extensive shoe collection. Amazing drool-worthy shoes I can never afford. Haha! So imagine when I checked the site and guess what the gorgeous mom was wearing... A Czarina Villa dress!

"My mom wore a beautiful dress made by Manila designer Czarina Villa-she was so kind as to send me some of her designs and they are absolutely incredible. Expect a more in-depth post on those pieces soon!"

Now that's what you call pinoy pride.
