Super excited me took pictures everywhere, for my first roll. Unfortunately out of the 36 shots, only 4 were developed. With my 0 photography skills, I was amazed at how the pictures turned out...though it would've been better if all 36 were developed.
Spooky! I found these twigs lying around at our house so I decided to play around with these. It was past 6 when I took this with my screeching flash on.
My grandparents' house have this 80-ish terrace where we usually hang out. I love how the white balustrade complemented the darkness of the background.
Odie gamely posed for the camera. Btw, he thinks he's human.
Did I just saw a Diet A&W rootbeer? Despite my NO SODA POLICY, I really can't help getting this. My ultimate perk-me-up drink while at work. Wonder where I just saw a Sarsaparilla...
So, how did I fare for my first roll?

The Best Things in Life are..Free!
Im a sentimental freak... I collect anything and everything, most especially if its FREE! My fascination for freecards started during a trip in Bangkok. I remember being handed out in the mall with a bunch of these cards for a Japanese Green Tea bottled drink they were promoting. Since these cards took awhile before it became available in the country, my access through freecards were limited to gifts from friends (who didn't find it useful) and freecard-looking-postcards. Imagine how thrilled I was to see the first freecard installation at Fullybooked Rockwell last year. My trips to the mall became YoCard hunting, getting every design available. I became obsessed with Yo Cards.
For their first anniversary, an exhibit was held at the 4th level of Fullybooked Bonifacio High Street.
Me and P had a blast going through all the Yo Cards showcased, which according to Kimmy and Alfred were collections from different countries.
They even gave away these wire stands, of course for FREE!
My personal favorite would be the Monopoly money for Silk Air. Unfortunately my photo was exposed (darn)...
Oops...
P going through walls and walls of Yo Cards. I think he's already convinced why I hoard these cards.
If I can just take these cards home!
According to Alfred the free card concept started in Spain.
It has already been around since the 70's or 80's (if I remembered it correctly).
These cards make good bookmarks too aside from being a collectible!
The best part of it all, it's ...
I'm counting now my YoCards...long way to go for a wall installation...

Trainspotting
Me and P made a deal, to have a LomoDay every weekend. Aside from running out of places to go, we are now officialy on a budget since we are saving up for our first trip together. As a couple we never really subscribed to the "usual"(movie and dinner). We'd rather go to the beach or anywhere away from the city, than go to malls and bars with all the noise, and pollution. With our lomos in tow, and the the sight of airplanes and exotic flea markets, we decided to hit the streets of Manila for our first Lomo Day. First stop, Hidalgo Street in Quiapo where we had our films processed and to get new rolls. Mine was easy since 35 mm's everywhere, while P struggled to get a 120. He ended up getting a 120 but only in black and white, while lucky me had all the options from an Agfa, Fuji, Kodak and the cheap Lucky (Another post for that Quiapo trip).
Here are P's photos taken at the train station on our way home.
I love the metal panels in the ceiling which reminds me of Euro train stations
Unfortunately taking pictures inside the train is not allowed (according to the guard), boo...

First
Pardon me for even considering myself as a lomographer. My love story with my camera started when I received it as a holiday present from my bf. I was raving over it not because I have long been into photography, but because of well... curiosity. I have never owned a camera in my life (unless my PDA phone camera's qualified). While everyone was into digital cameras, I was on the verge of bankruptcy due to my impulsive book-hoarding (not buying). Reading has become an addiction that I developed a habit of checking out authors and buying books in alphabetical order (oops). I love how words translate images in such a way that it leaves room for your mind to wander, possibly along the lines of the author's own image,or as far as where your imagination will take you. This is exactly what sparked my curiosity with lomography. The tag line "Just point and shoot" gave me the heart to try out lomography since it lets you take endless images without thinking of the technicalities of photography (which I am completely clueless), just letting yourself feel the moment and just appreciate the images when it's already processed. I am on my 3rd film with only 1 roll processed. Long way to go for me. Long live Lomography!
